Installing the Loft Style Shower Screens & Enclosures requires careful handling to ensure a secure and stylish finish. Here are some essential tips to guide you through the process:
1. Surveying the Project
- Ensure that all shower trays, tiles, and any other aspects not directly linked to the glass installation are in place before calculating glass sizes.
- Check that the walls and floors are level or plumb. Measuring devices and angle finders can assist with this.
2. Preparation is Key
- Ensure all components, such as profiles, brackets, and glass panels, are clean and free from dust and debris.
- Measure the space accurately to ensure that all profiles fit perfectly, checking against your original survey.
- Check for plumbing pipes when planning hole placement. Mark installation points to ensure straight and precise positioning.
- Measure the height and width of the wall or floor where the grid and U-profiles will be installed.
3. Cutting & Installing U Profiles
- Use a fine-toothed hacksaw or aluminum profile cutter to cut the profiles to your desired length. For perfect corners, mitre the ends at 45 degrees using a mitre box or saw.
- Position U-profiles (G7012BL-LOFT / G7013BL-LOFT) at the base and sides of the glass panels.
- Installation depends on the substrate; No.6 countersunk stainless steel screws (3.5mm x 40mm) with a wall plug are commonly used.
- Before securing, use a spirit level to ensure they are straight.
- Apply Soudall Fix ALL generously within the U-profile before installing the glass. Allow the silicone to partially cure before moving on.
4. Installing Corner Profiles
- Use 180° and 90° Corner Profiles (G.DK.LOFT.020, G.DK.LOFT.021) for the enclosure's framed look.
- Position them vertically along the glass edge, secure using adhesive, and hold until the bond is secure.
5. Installing the LoftStyle Black Flat Profile
- Cut to size using a clean, sharp saw blade.
- Apply Double Side Tape centrally on the back of the profile and attach to the glass.
- Align both sides of the glass carefully.
6. Mounting Support Bars
- Use robust support bar components to attach to the glass and the wall, adding stability.
- Securely fix the mount to the wall, cut and position the bar, and attach the glass mount to the support bar.
- Secure into place using grub screws.
7. Final Adjustments
- Check all connections and profiles for alignment and stability. Adjust as necessary before the adhesive fully cures.
8. Sealing the Edges
- Seal the edges of profiles and glass panels with high-quality clear silicone to prevent water leakage. Use tools like a Rectangular Silicone Joint Smoother or Triangular Silicone Joint Smoother.
9. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Clean installed profiles and glass using non-abrasive glass cleaners. Regular maintenance ensures durability and aesthetics.
By following these tips, you'll achieve a sleek, professional finish for your Loft Style Shower Screens and Enclosures.
